Córdoba: una escapada con encanto.

Hola amantes del placer,

¿Como estáis? Cómo me gusta hacer turismo por España, bueno, por España y por cualquier parte del mundo, pero España es una gran desconocida para aquellos que vivimos en este fantástico país.

Siempre queremos descubrir un mundo lejano, pensando que los paisajes más bonitos están en Australia, las ciudades más especiales en América y los monumentos más increíbles en Italia. Pero esto no es así, España tiene muchos lugares que investigar, pueblos que son de película, sitios  escondidos deseando ser mostrados, y lo que pasa es que no sabemos vender nuestro país cuando en él hay autenticas maravillas; un ejemplo de ello es Andalucía, tiene un "algo" que enamora. Cuando vas, te quieres quedar: Granada con su embrujo, Córdoba con su magia, Sevilla con su arte.... 

Poco a poco os quiero ir hablando de muchos de ellos, y que os enamoréis conmigo de estas ciudades. Hoy es el turno de Córdoba. ¿Habéis estado allí? ¿Qué os ha parecido? He tenido la suerte de poder conocer un poco este lugar, y os quiero contar algunas cosas. Hice una escapada de 3 días y esto es lo que descubrí.

Mis consejos para ver una ciudad:

• Hacer un free tour. Siempre que sea posible cogedlo el primer día que lleguéis. Te ayuda a saber un poquito de esa ciudad que tienes delante: cuál ha sido su historia, sus protagonistas, anécdotas, misterios... Suelen ser chicos jóvenes, licenciados en turismo o historia, que a través de sus palabras y recorriendo la ciudad durante 2-3 horas te llevan a disfrutar de todos los rincones que ofrecen. Al final de la visita, siempre se les suele dar algo de dinero, lo que tu creas que ha valido su trabajo. ¿Habéis hecho alguno? ¡Desde que los descubrí no me los pierdo!

• Disfrutar de su gastronomía: Si vais no dudéis en probar de todo. Lo más típico son: flamenquines, frituras de pescado, el pastel cordobés (Qué delicia: relleno de cabello de ángel), el rabo de toro, el salmorejo y sus variantes... Esos sabores te transportan a saber más sobre esta ciudad... No os voy a recomendar ningún sitio en especial porque todos los sitios son estupendos, pero sí os voy a decir que vayáis a tapear a la Plaza Corredera. ¡Qué ambientazo tiene!

• Disfrutar de sus costumbres: ¿Hay algo más genuino que poder disfrutar de un espectáculo ecuestre en las mismas caballerizas reales? Es una maravilla poder admirar como los caballos de  pura sangre son capaces de bailar sevillanas.... Ya me gustaría a mí ver a un chic@ bailar tan bien como lo hicieron estos animales, lo digo por mí la primera jejeje

También tuve la suerte de disfrutar de los patios de Córdoba sin hacer cola... y es que, antes de mayo, durante el mes de abril, solo por unos días, pagando una entrada simbólica de 5 euros puedes entrar en muchos patios. Sus propietarios, están encantados de abrirte las puertas de sus casas y contarte cuales han sido sus premios, cómo trabajan el patio, las ayudas económicas que reciben, (ya os digo que son una miseria para todo el trabajo que lleva eso o lo haces por placer o no lo haces). Me contaron que tiene que hacer para poder participar en el concurso, son ellos quienes tienen que cuidar las plantas no pueden contratar a nadie, las plantas no pueden ser nuevas, (yo no podría participar no me dura ningún ser vivo... no se cómo esta sobreviviendo mi jazmín..), regar el patio les lleva más de 3 horas al día, pintan 3 veces al año ,tanto la pared como cada maceta, pues todo tiene que estar impoluto, imaginaros quitar y pintar al menos 300 macetas, no tiene que ser tarea fácil... todos ellos coinciden que aunque es un trabajo duro, es muy satisfactorio, solo hay que escucharles y verles la cara de orgullo cada vez que te hablan de su patio.

• Descubrir su historia entrando en sus monumentos: La Mezquita de Córdoba... que puedo decir de esa maravilla, no es posible describirlo con palabras, cuando la vi por fuera ya me pareció enorme e increíble, pero al entrar.... No me la imaginaba así, tan majestuosa,  tan gigantesca. Andando por ella, se pueden apreciar las diferentes fases por las que pasó, las distintas construcciones y los materiales usados. Gracias a ello, podemos entender el poder económico de cada época y reino. La entrada sin guía son 10 euros. (Pero ya en el free tour desde el patio, te explican su historia y sus fases. Con guía 40 euros. (su precio es tan elevado porque la iglesia solo deja unos días y únicamente a 2 o 3 guías.)

Otro monumento que no os podéis perder es El Alcanzar y sus jardines. Cuanta historia se encierra bajo sus paredes, cuantos besos prohibidos, deseos enterrados, traiciones.. Entrad y viajar a través del tiempo, maravillaros con la belleza de sus jardines. La entrada fueron 4.50 euros

También me gustaría que no dejéis de visitar el Palacio de Viana con sus patios. No es muy conocido y sin embargo, es de los lugares que me han parecido más mágicos.

• Pasear por sus calles: Perdiéndose por sus calles, caminando entre la gente, visitando el zoco, tomando un té ... No hay mejor manera de descubrir la ciudad, cada rincón es único y cuenta una historia, ya sea de la persona que ha vivido como de aquella que vive ahora, puedes pasar por la calle de flores, la calle del pañuelo (como nos dijeron, recibe ese nombre porque el ancho de la calle es lo que medía un viejo pañuelo) ...

• Alojaros en un lugar céntrico: el antiguo convento para alojarse es muy diferente y si vais en coche aparcarlo en el parque Miraflores.

Podría seguid contando mil y una cosas más pero no acabaría nunca, si queréis saber algo más ¡¡¡escribidme!!! y también contadme más cosas de esta ciudad que quiero volver. Decidme también si se me ha olvidado algo, lo que queráis.

How are you?Oh! How I love to do tourism in Spain! Well, in Spain or anywhere else in the world, but Spain is a mostly unknown for a great number of  people who live in this fantastic country.

We always want to discover a distant world, thinking that the most beautiful landscapes are in Australia, the most special cities in America and the most incredible monuments in Italy. But this is not so, Spain has many places to explore, towns that appear on film, hidden places wishing to be shown, but the problem is that we do not know how to sell our country, there are authentic wonders in it; An example of this is Andalucia, it has something special that it makes you to fall in love with this place. When you go there, you will want to stay forever: Granada with its charm, Cordoba with its magic, Seville with its art....

Little by little, I want to talk about many great places that you fall in love with.. Today is the turn of Cordoba. Have you been there? What do you think about it? I have been lucky enough to get to know this place a little, and I want to tell you some secrets. I got way for a 3 day break and this is what I discovered.

My advice to explore a city will be: 

• Make a free tour. Whenever it is possible, take the tour on the first day you arrive. It helps you to get to know a little more about this city which is right in front of you: its history, its protagonists, anecdotes,and  mysteries ... The free Tour is organize by young guys,who had graduated in tourism or history and, who through their words and touring the city during 2-3 hours make you to enjoy every noock and crannie of this place. At the end of the visit, a tip should be given to the guys.  Have you made any tours? Since I discovered this way to visit the city, I won´t missed! 

• Enjoy the gastronomy: If you go to Cordoba, do not hesitate to taste everything. The most typical food are flamenquines, fried fish, "Cordoba´s cake" (What a delight!), the bull's tail, salmorejo ... These flavors let you tounderstand more about this city .. I will not recommend any particular place because all the restaurants are great, but It´s essential to have some  tapas at Plaza Corredera. What a setting it has!

• Enjoying their customs: Is there anything more genuine than being able to enjoy an equestrian show in the very royal stables? It is wonderful to admire how thoroughbred horses are capable of dancing sevillanas .... I would like to see a boy or girl dancing as well as beautiful animals did.

I was also fortunate to enjoy the Patios of Cordoba without queuing. During the month of April, just for a few days, paying a symbolic entrance of 5 euros, you can visit many courtyards. Their owners are delighted to open the doors of their houses and tell you what their prizes have won, how they worked the yard, the financial help they receive, (I tell that they receive a very little money for all the work that involves whether you do it for pleasure or you do not). They told me that all the thinks they have to do to be able to participate in the contest, they are the only ones who can take care of the plants, they can not hire anyone else, the plants can not be new, (I could not participate because all plants that I had died ... I do not know how my jasmine flower survive ..), watering all the plants of the courtyards takes more than 3 hours a day, the patios are painting 3 times a year, both the wall and each plant pot, because everything has to be unpolluted, imagine removing and painting at least 300 pots, it is not an easy task ... all of them agree that although it is hard work, it is very satisfaying, you just have to listen to them and see their proud faces every time they talk about their yards.

• Discover its history entering its monuments: The Mosque of Cordoba ...The only thing I say about this marvel, is that it is not possible to describe it with words, when I saw it from the outside I thought that it was huge and incredible, but on entering .... I couldn´t imagine her to be so majestic, so gigantic. Walking through it, you can see the different phases through which it gone though, the different constructions and the materials used. Thanks to this, we can understand the economic power of each era and kingdom. The entrance without a guide is 10 euros. (But tour guide in the patio, will explain you the history and its phases.) With a guided tour , the price is 40 euros (its price is so high because the church only allowes tours a few days a moth and only 2 or 3 guides at a time)

Another monument that you should not miss is The Alcanzar and its gardens. How much history is enclosed under its walls, how many forbidden kisses, buried desires, betrayals .. Enter and travel in time, marvel at the beauty of its gardens. The entrance fee was 4.50 euros

I would also like you to visit the Palacio de Viana with its patios. It is not very well known and yet it is one of the best places that I have found to be the most magical.

• Strolling through its streets: Get lost in its streets, walking among the people, visiting "Zoco" (arabe market), having a tea ... There is the better way to discover the city, every nook and crannie is unique and tells a story, either of the person who had lived  or still living there, you can walk along the street of flowers, the street of the handkerchief (as we were told, it gets this name  because the width of the street is the measure of an old handkerchief) ...

• To stay in a central place: "the old convent" to stay is very different and if you go by car park it in the park Miraflores. (outskirts of the city.)
